Camp Times

Happy Catholic's School's Week! It is great to be able to have the opportunity to give thanks for our faith, and reach out to others in need this week.  Thanks for sending your children to St. Bonaventure School. We have many fun events this week, don't forget to check the schedule that was sent home.

Mass:  Even though we went to mass today, we will also be celebrating mass on Wednesday this week.  Please join us if you can.

LaRoche College:  We will once again have a LaRoche College student come into our class on Tuesday mornings.  She will work with the kids and review a variety of Grammar Skills with them.

Retreat:  We had a very nice reflective Reconciliation retreat on Friday. The children did a great job. We look forward to our special day on Saturday. Please check your child's folder for more information in this special day.

Communion Retreat:  I have selected a date for our Communion Retreat which will be held in Newmeyer Hall.  The date is Monday, March 26th. I will be sending  home information about that special day in early March.

Book Orders: I will be sending home the new book order today.  All orders are due back by Friday.

Supplies:  Many of the children do not have sharpened pencils.  Please take a few minutes to ask your child if they need pencils.

Upcoming Skills:

Religion:  We will talk about how the mass is a meal and a sacrifice.  We will also continue to prepare for Reconciliation.

Math:  We will begin our chapter on Fractions.

Language Arts:  We will begin our new story titled, "Dear Mr. Blueberry".  The genre is Informational Story.  The children will learn some interesting facts about whales.  In spelling and phonic the children will be able to recognize the letter patterns  oo and ue vowel sound.  In Grammar we will continue to review adjectives that tell what kind, how many, and adjectives that compare.

Science:  We will have a quiz on Thursday on our chapter on Force, and Heat, Light, and Sound. Our new unit will be on the Human Body.

Social Studies:  We will have our chapter test tomorrow on the Past.  On Wednesday we will have our JA program which will focus on jobs in the community.  We will begin a new chapter next week.

Let's give thanks for the gift of faith this week, and share our faith with all of those around.
