2007-08 Dress Code
Grades 1-8
Girls and Boys

Kindergarten and Pre-School Students wear play clothes!

The following is the dress code for the 2007-08 school year.  NO HOODIES OF ANY KIND WILL BE PERMITTED DURING SCHOOL HOURS. 

ALL STUDENTS IN GRADES 1-8 -- GIRLS AND BOYS -- MUST WEAR

  1. SHIRTS:  Polo shirts (logo shirts are optional and available from Schoolbelles or the Athletic Association), turtlenecks, oxford cloth shirts, Peter Pan collar shirts in the following colors:  white, light blue, pale yellow, navy, red and hunter green.  NO TIGHT FITTING shirts of any kind will be permitted. 

  2. PANTS:  UNIFORM style pants in khaki or navy blue ONLY.  No low rise style pants or any pants with ANY kind of exposed pockets on the front, back or legs will be permitted. 

  3. SHORTS:  UNIFORM style shorts in khaki or navy blue ONLY.  ALL shorts must be knee length.  Girls may wear knee length uniform plaid shorts available through Schoolbelles ONLY. 

  4. BELTS:  ALL students, girls and boys, in Grades 3 through 8 MUST wear a belt with pants or shorts.  Shirts on students in grades 1-8 with the exception of Jr. High girls must be tucked in at all times.  . 

  5. SHOES:  Low (1 inch or less) or flat heel shoes.  Shoes must have a back.  Colors permitted:  brown, black, navy, cordovan.  NO CLOGS are permitted. 

  6. SOCKS:  Boys: white, black, navy socks that can be seen above the shoe (ankle length).  Girls: solid white ankle length socks, or solid white or navy blue knee length socks. 

  7. SWEATERS:  ONLY cardigans, crew necks, V-neck sweaters are permitted.  Red, navy and white are the ONLY colors permitted.  Sweaters MUST be PLAIN.  NO DESIGNS of any kind will be permitted.  NO HOODS!

  8. GYM APPAREL:  Students in 4th through 8th grades may wear knee length shorts and t-shirts.  Shorts and t-shirts must be loose-fitting.  NO CHEER SHORTS ARE PERMITTED.  NO FORM FITTING SHORTS OR SHIRTS OF ANY KIND WILL BE PERMITTED.  Students in Grades 1-2-3 must wear the following to school on gym days:  SOLID red or black knee length shorts or long pants along with SOLID  red, black or white t-shirts.  Both shorts and t-shirts must be loose-fitting.  NO DESIGNS OR WRITING  other than ST. BONAVENTURE LOGO-WEAR will be permitted.  Students in Grades 4 through 8 are not permitted to leave the building at dismissal in their gym clothes.  Uniforms MUST be worn home. 

GIRLS MAY WEAR: 

Jumpers, skorts and skirts:  Navy blue or school plaid.  Plaid jumpers MUST be purchased at Schoolbelles.  ALL jumpers, skorts and skirts MUST BR KNEE LENGTH.  NO ROLLING of skirts or skorts will be permitted. 

JEANS AND TENNIES DAY:  Loose-fitting blue jeans are permitted.  No jeans with holes or low rise, tight-fitting jeans will be permitted.  Girls may wear loose fitting capris.  Boys may wear knee length jean shorts.  No sleeveless or cap-sleeved shirts will be permitted.  All shirts must cover the midriff area.  NO CLOTHING with inappropriate language or designs will be permitted. 

PARENTS -- PLEASE NOTE:  The preceding dress code will be STRICTLY enforced starting on the first day of school.
