2010 - 2011 Dress Code

The following is the official dress code for the 2010 -  2011 school year.  Changes to the dress code are made at the principal's discretion.  The dress code will be enforced on the first day of the new school year.  Clothing items may be purchased through Schoolbelles (the official uniform company of St. Bonaventure Parish School) or the SBS Athletic Association.

ALL STUDENTS IN GRADES 1-8 -- GIRLS AND BOYS :

SHIRTS:  Polo shirts, turtlenecks, oxford cloth, and Peter Pan collar shirts in the following colors: white, lnavy and red.  Tight fitting shirts of any kind are unacceptable.

PANTS:  UNIFORM style pants in khaki or navy blue ONLY.  No low rise style pants or any pants with ANY kind of exposed pockets on the front, back or legs will be permitted. 

SHORTS:  UNIFORM style shorts in khaki or navy blue ONLYALL shorts must be knee length.  Girls may wear knee length uniform plaid shorts available through Schoolbelles ONLY. 

JUMPERS, SKORTS, and SKIRTS:  (Girls uniform) Navy blue or school plaid.  Plaid jumpers MUST be purchased through Schoolbelles.  All jumpers, skorts and skirts MUST BE KNEE LENGTH.  Rolling of skirts and skorts is prohibited.

BELTS:  ALL students, girls and boys, in Grades 3 through 8 MUST wear a belt with pants or shorts.  Shirts on students in grades 1-8 with the exception of Jr. High girls must be tucked in at all times. 

SHOES:  Low (1 inch or less) or flat heel shoes.  Shoes must have a full back.  Colors permitted:  brown, black, navy, cordovan.  Shoes should be practical, comfortable school shoes.  CLOGS and SANDALS are not permitted to be worn with the uniform. 

SOCKS:  Boys: white, black, navy socks that can be seen above the shoe (ankle length). 
Girls: solid white ankle length socks, or solid white or navy blue knee length socks or tights. 
Socks below the shoe line for All students are UNacceptable.

SWEATERS:  Cardigans, crew necks, V-neck sweaters are permitted.  Red, navy and white are the  colors permitted.  Sweaters must be plain with no designs of any kind.

HOODIES:  Official St. Bonaventure School Hoodies may be worn with the school uniform.  Hoodies are ordered through the St. Bonaventure Logowear Order Form.  These hoodies may be worn during school hours.  ALL other hooded sweatshirts are prohibited.

Make-up on female students is prohibited.

Well-groomed collar length hair for boys is acceptable.

GYM APPAREL:

Students in 4th through 8th grades
may weart-shirts and knee length shorts.  Shorts and t-shirts must be loose-fitting.  NO CHEER SHORTS or form fitting shorts of any kind. Students in Grades 4 - 8 are not permitted to leave the building at dismissal in their gym clothes.  Uniforms must be worn home.

Students in Grades 1-2-3
must wear the following to school on gym days:  SOLID red or black knee length shorts or long pants along with SOLID  red, black or white t-shirts.  Both shorts and t-shirts must be loose-fitting.  NO DESIGNS OR WRITING  other than ST. BONAVENTURE LOGO-WEAR will be permitted. 

JEANS AND TENNIES DAY:  Loose-fitting blue jeans are permitted.  No jeans with holes, low rise, black, or tight-fitting jeans will be permitted.  Girls may wear loose fitting capris.  Boys may wear knee length jean shorts.  No sleeveless or cap-sleeved shirts will be permitted.  All shirts must cover the midriff area.  NO CLOTHING with inappropriate language or designs will be permitted. 

DRESS DOWN DAYS:  Students may wear wind/sweat pants or baskegball knee length shorts on dress down days.  Any appropriate shirt is acceptable including team shirts.  Hoodies and sweat shirts are also permitted on these days.  Inappropriate attire; tight fitting or short shorts , midriff shirts, slang/derogatory pictures, designs or slogans on shirts will not be permitted.

Parents will be called for a change of clothing if their student is in violation of the dress code.  The student will be detained in the office until proper clothing is received.  The student will be responsible for missed assignments, etc during this time.
