Students in Kindergarten thru 5th Grade are listening to songs that will help teach/ review the 50 States and their Capitals.
Kindergarten	K-110-A - Computer	K-110-B - Computer	OFFICE/TECH
	In Kindergarten, we are learning the parts of the computer and learning proper technology terminology. We have been practicing logging on and logging off of the St. Bonaventure server. Ask your children if they know what the little pictures are called that represent the programs. We will be using KidPix to help us learn how to move our computer mouse easily. The Kindergarten students are working in the Starfall program to help us learn our letters and their sounds. The website is: www.starfall.com
1st Grade	1-104 - Computer 1-106 - Computer	1-106 - Library
	In 1st Grade Computers, we continue to review the parts of the computer and proper technology terminology. The 1st Graders are working in the Starfall program to review letters and sounds. They are also working on the SmartBoards to review 1st grade math. We recently heard the story "The Hat" by Jan Brett. Stop by the Computer Lab to see our "hats".
2nd Grade	2-101-A - Computer	2-101-B - Computer
	In 2nd Grade, we review the parts of the computer and proper technology terminology. In the new year, 2nd Grade will be starting to learn about Microsoft Word. We are learning how to: "Insert" a "Picture" from "Clipart" and how to "Format" a "Page Border".
3rd Grade		3-103 - Library 3-105 - Library
	The students are very excited to be hearing stories from The Boxcar Children series.
4th Grade	4-201 - Library Exchange 4-202 - Library Exchange
5th Grade	5-203 - Keyboarding/Computer +	5-203 - Keyboarding/Computer +
	The students are working in an on-line typing program entitled "TypingMaster". This is a program which allows the students to advance at their own pace. All students are progressing nicely in TypingMaster. We will also be working in "First-in-Math". In the new year, students will be learning how to use the "Outline" feature in Microsoft Word 2007 and the "Graphing" feature in Microsoft Excel 2007. We did a "tasty" graph project using M&Ms. Stop by the Computer Lab to see our colorful pie graphs.

Junior High			Media Review The students are writing Book Reviews for our younger children. The current series is: Berenstain Bears

NOTES:

No homework will be given in any computer classes -- all assignments are completed in-class. Occasionally, students will be asked to "think" of an idea to bring to class on a certain subject.
The only HOMEWORK given for Library classes is to remember to return your book and READ, READ, READ! Reading will take you on many wonderful adventures!
Keyboarding students: There are many great, free on-line typing programs. Ask for your parents' permission to try one at home. The best way to increase accuracy and speed in keyboarding is: PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!
